Are there different arenas for discussion? One where the director buys a beer with the sound designer and talks about his vision, the process, what could be changed? Another when the director is in power, the voice that actors listen for and to?
Is there a beneficial system of censors between collaborators, or is it better to be persistently blunt and honest?
I agree with those who say too many voices giving orders becomes noise.
I also believe that there are magic relationships. Rhythms that are stumbled upon and-without verbal acknowledgement-practiced and perfected.
